#26 Inspire Your Homeschoolers To Help Others: w/ guest from The Apparent Project Haiti

In this episode, we talk with Pam from The Apparent Project School, a ministry in Haiti. You and your kids will benefit greatly from hearing what she says about the school, the students' lives away from school and the surprising difference between teachers at the ministry compared to those in other schools around the country.

This is a heartfelt conversation will spark ideas for how you can help your kids make connections w/ others who have needs that we simply cannot wrap our minds around. Pam, coordinator for the Early Childhood Program, explains the heartbreaking housing situation that most of their students face when the school day is done. The Apparent Project is a safe haven for these families and we've created a unique opportunity to support them. In our upcoming class series, Jump, Pray and PenPal, we will email and then meet virtually w/ the students of The Apparent Project School.

This class will give kids the chance to bond with Haitian kids and gain compassion and insight into how other kids around the world live. It is our hope that we will create friendships by learning about each other and taking part in lifting each other up in prayer. Not much is more sweet and powerful than the sincere prayer of a child and we’re excited to see the wonderful things that God does through our efforts!

As a springboard to connection, the kids will learn basic jump roping skills which the students in Haiti will be doing, as well. They'll have fun with this regardless of their level of experience with jump roping because we first learn how to jump over a line and keep the beat to skipping rhymes and then we’ll progress to tricks.  No rope is needed for the class as they’ll learn how to use their “invisible jump rope” with the end goal being to use a rope w/ efficiency.

This class will run for an hour each week for 4 weeks and will be taught by Ms. Kim.  The class will take place in a meet-up area of our website and class will be held virtually on Tuesdays from 10-11AM EST.  The cost is $40 per family plus a donation in the amount your family is led to give to the Apparent Project in Haiti to help cover their rent The outline is listed below and is subject to change based on the needs of all the students.
